The Beauty Looks From Australian Fashion Week We’ll Be Trying This Weekend

While the latest trends and designers to watch are the talk of the town at Australian Fashion Week, the beauty, hair and makeup looks also have their well-deserved moments in the spotlight.

From other-worldly metallics to statement hairstyles and experimental colour combos, we've wrapped up the looks we loved - and can't wait to try ourselves.

From head to toe, these are the beauty looks - and coming trends - to keep a (winged) eye on.

At Third Form, the focus was on fresh, natural skin, with the designer partnering with FOREO to prep models' skin backstage. With minimal makeup coverage the goal, it was all about natural contours and glowing, plump skin. 

First, makeup was removed using the FOREO Cleansing Balm, followed by the LUNA 4 paired with the brand's Micro-Foam Cleanser. 

Then, the models' cheeks and faces were lifted and toned using the BEAR 2 microcurrent facial toning device with the hydrating and conductive SUPERCHARGED Serum 2.0. 

The result was flawless, naturally flushed and dewy skin.

Matching the fluid, undone and avante-garde interpretation of the ANNA QUAN woman, models walked the runway with celestial, silvery smokey eyes. 

Gritty and galactic, with a touch of soft glam, the look was paired with Hair by Wella, led by Renya Xydis, with sleek and simple hairstyles created with styling gels and shine mists.

Silvery iridescence was also the name of the game during Rory William Docherty's AFW debut, with models sporting silver winged liner, with a cool-toned, silver sheen also spotted on lids at Albus Lumen. 

Mariam Seddiq took the silver fixation to a whole new level, with one model hitting the runway in head-to-toe chrome bodypaint. 

The main message? Silver is having a well-deserved moment in the spotlight.

When skin is kept glowy and fresh, the chance is there for the eyes - or more specifically, eyeliner - to steal the show. 

Bold, bright and graphic liner was seen on models for Irrah Swim as part of the David Jones Indigenous Fashion Projects runway, with a similar cobalt blue seen during the Miimi & Jinda part of the show. 

Contrasting the show's sophisticated minimalism, models at ANNA QUAN showed off peachy pink lined eyes, offset by luminous cheeks and soft blush lips.

Pops of red weren't only seen in the collections (and on the street), with beautiful burgundy lips also making a statement in the beauty looks.

Models at BEC + BRIDGE sported a blurred, blotted effect on their lips, with the colour reminiscent of the aftermath of a few good glasses of red (if we do say so ourselves...)

Smudged, muted and berry-stained looks were also spotted at Rory William Docherty, paired with simple slicked-back hairstyles for maximum impact.

With many beauty looks at Australian Fashion Week this year taking a minimalist and undone approach, it's only fair that nails followed suit. 

Bare nails were all the rage at Albus Lumen, with models' nails kept purposely unpolished - with makeup partner Sisley's Les Phyto Ombres in Glow Silver used to add a touch of shine to the nail beds. 

Models at Acler also donned nude nails, letting the bold and bright clothing do all the talking.

With "Club Girl" the aesthetic of Michael Lo Sordo's show, it's only natural that smudged, thick and lived-in black liner was key. 

"Bedroom eyes" were the name of the game at Karla Spetic, which paired perfectly with the collection's nod to lingerie and lace (and the brand's partnership with Lovehoney which saw models walk the runway with vibrators in hand).

And against the backdrop of Sydney's SEA LIFE aquarium, models at Speed were given grime-inspired eyes, offset with a warm and fiery clothing palette.

In contrast to the soft and sculptural curves of Acler's collection, hair was straight and fell in layers. Glossy and voluminous, the models' hair was straightened by Redken Hair Director Diana Gorgievski, with fringes cut in geometric shapes. 

Stacked extensions were applied in waterfall layers around the the fringe and face, with extensions hand-dyed by the team to perfectly colour-match the model's own.
