UnWined Subiaco
Get ready to sip, savour, and celebrate as UnWined Subiaco returns for its 14th year, on October 21-22. This iconic festival is the ultimate showcase of Western Australia’s finest wineries, breweries, distilleries, and food producers. Whether you’re a seasoned wine connoisseur or simply looking for a fantastic day out, this year’s festival promises an unforgettable experience with premium wine tastings, exclusive offers, delicious local eats, and live entertainment.

Bloom Festival
Celebrate spring and the wildflowers bursting into bloom across the Great Southern region of WA’s South West. This annual event offers so much, including arts, crafts, exhibitions, fauna and flora-themed activities, creative workshops, food events, markets, Aboriginal cultural events, open gardens and guided walks and hikes. Spanning various locations from Kojonup to Bremer Bay, the festival highlights the rich cultural and natural beauty of the region.

Set against the picturesque backdrop of Esplanade Park in Fremantle on the 19th and 20th of October, over 100 talented local artists and designers will showcase their creations in a true testament to the incredible craftsmanship found right here in WA. There will be a carefully curated and diverse selection of vendors to ensure there’s something for everyone. From the scent of handmade candles to the touch of bespoke fashion and the charm of unique woodwork pieces, the market is a feast for the senses...there are even stalls catering for your furry four-legged friends.

Breast Friends Lunches at The Cott
Not that we need a reason to gather our gal pals for a leisurely weekend lunch, but nevertheless, this is a good one. During October, you can enjoy an incredible $75pp three-course set menu every weekend, where 15% of proceeds will be donated to Breast Cancer Care WA (BCCWA). Providing crucial support to the over 1,700 Western Australians diagnosed with breast cancer each year, BCCWA offers services including counselling, financial and practical assistance, support groups, and regional outreach.

The Wall of Support at The Cott
The Wall of Support is an initiative where locals and visitors are encouraged to bring a bra to The Beach Club within The Cottesloe Beach Hotel and The Bay Club within Mangrove Hotel in Broome during the month of October. For every bra added to the wall, the Prendiville Group will donate $5 towards Breast Cancer Care WA. The ‘Wall of Support’ is symbolism for strength and solidarity whilst encouraging conversation around the complex and sensitive topic of breast cancer.

Step into Zen at Perth Zoo
The Hike Collective has launched an exclusive experience at Perth Zoo, where you can step into a sanctuary of calm before the zoo opens for the day to the public. The two-hour tour begins with a gentle walk through the rainforest, followed by a 45-minute beginner-friendly yoga session in the calming presence of the elephants. The journey then continues with a walk through the African savannah and Australian bushland, meeting some of the much-loved locals—from lions and meerkats to pandas, and koalas. The experience finishes with a refreshing cold-pressed juice as you soak in the wonders of the wild.

Discover Forest Bathing
Perth-based tour company Mindful in Nature has unveiled a number of new tours and experiences, all designed to foster a deeper connection with nature and promote health and well-being. The Discover Forest Bathing in Dwellingup tour offers guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in the tranquillity of the forest in Perth’s Peel Region. There’s also The Serenity in the Park: Eco-Wellness Experience in Yellagonga Regional Park in the northern suburb of Joondalup, which offers a peaceful retreat with mindfulness practices, gentle movement, and sensory activities to deepen your connection with nature.
For those looking for a restorative day retreat, the new Forest Alchemy Day Retreat in Beelu National Park in the Perth Hills is simply glorious. You’ll participate in a silent walk, Qigong practice, and a nourishing vegetarian lunch, complemented by a follow-up 1:1 coaching session.

Entwined in the Swan Valley
This year’s Entwined in the Swan Valley will see the festival expand to a month-long celebration offering a mix of long table lunches, indulgent dinners, family activities and immersive masterclasses. Highlights include an afternoon of sipping pink cocktails and rose at The Longest Rose Luncheon at Sandalford Wines; Twilight Picnic and Jazz at Bailey Brewing Co; tasting events and workshops featuring the region’s wines, brews, spirits and coffee; asparagus masterclasses; fortified blending classes; market days; Italian Family Days and a Kids Oktoberfest.

Have a sauna at Scarborough or City Beach
Alchemy Saunas has expanded its popular sauna offering to another two scenic and iconic beach side locations - Scarborough and City Beach, with existing locations across the city including Fremantle and West Leederville. City Beach is the first permanent outdoor sauna to be located beachside in Western Australia. This unique offering will enable guests to create their own hot and cold therapy, with a plunge in the ocean after the session.
Hidden De Tours New Brewery Experience
Perth-based touring company Hidden de Tours has launched a new tour offering, exploring the breweries south of Perth in the Rockingham and Peel regions. Kicking off once a month on a Sunday, the five-hour tour includes visits to three brewpubs, with tastings and lunch included. The breweries include FOUND.LAB in Byford, King Road Brewery in Oldbury, and The Brewship in Yangebup. The tour includes guided beer tasting sessions with beer experts, behind the scenes brewery tour, and a brewery lunch.

High Tea with Heart
This elegant high tea, taking place on Sunday October 27th, will raise crucial funds to support breast cancer research and services, while offering a memorable afternoon of sips, indulgence and heartfelt connection. A botanical feast for the senses held in Mas Vino, the high tea is inspired by Australia’s native botanical flavours such as roast pumpkin tartlet with salt bush dukkah, and coconut mousse lamington with lemon myrtle curd and pepperberry and pistachio layered sponge.

Little Wave opens in Scarborough
Perth’s coastal suburb of Scarborough scores a brand new neighbourhood wine bar and cafe – Little Wave. With those stunning ocean views, this is the perfect spot to enjoy a wine whilst watching an iconic WA sunset. The menu offers Mediterranean-inspired flavours, with share plates and larger dishes, and a wine list featuring local and European varieties. As well as an evening wine bar, the venue also offers a relaxed beach-side café vibe, serving up coffee from 6am for the early beachgoers.

Azabu by Kampai opens in Northbridge
A premium Japanese dining experience has opened its doors in Perth’s cultural hub of Northbridge. Azabu by Kampai focuses on showcasing premium A5 wagyu sourced directly from Japan. With restaurants in Malaysia and Kuala Lumpur, Azabu by Kampai is the first to open in Australia. The restaurant offers a carefully crafted menu that showcases Wagyu Kappo & Yakiniku – a style of Japanese cuisine that emphasises the meticulous preparation and presentation of dishes using premium A5 Wagyu as the centrepiece. Also on the menu is a seafood selection of oysters and sashimi, along with smaller bites and a curated cocktail list.

Bar Love opening in Northbridge
Another Northbridge newcomer set to open its retro-inspired doors this month is Bar Love. Well-known Perth bartenders Pippa Canavan and Murray Walsh (who made a name for themselves at Mechanics Institute) have teamed up to open the city’s latest dive bar-inspired venue. The hand-painted outdoor signage promises ‘cold drinks, warm service and hot bartenders’, with the interiors offering 70s maximalist with hot pink walls, bric-a-brac and velvet love seats.
Signature cocktails will be served up alongside seasonal creations and quality classics, with four taps pouring batched cocktails and local brews and a minimalist wine list. A menu of classic bar snacks is also on offer to keep you satisfied.

Beyond City Distilling moves from Busselton to the Perth CBD
Beyond City Distilling opened its doors this month at the Spring on Queen venue on Perth’s Queen Street – serving a range of expertly crafted Beyond Distilling cocktails. Thanks to the arrival of 10 baby copper stills, the venue will also offer ‘make your own gin’ sessions, where you can create your own signature gin. The Beyond City Distilling events program will include intimate masterclasses, curated cocktail degustations and Beyond Bottomless lunches, accompanied by a seasonal spring menu.

The Long Lunch at Lontara, Rottnest Island
Rottnest’s standout glam restaurant, Lontara, is hosting a Long Lunch in support of the Go Pink initiative for Breast Cancer Care WA (BCCWA). Dine on Coffin Bay oysters, shark bay prawn dumplings, local Pink Snapper and a menu packed with mouthwatering delights, while raising money for this worthy cause.

Botanical High Tea at Pan Pacific
Pan Pacific Perth’s signature High Tea returns for spring with a three-tiered elegant menu, inspired by the delicate and subtle flavours of Australia’s native botanicals. Head Pastry Chef Sai Jetty and his team have created a menu filled with delicate and flavourful local botanical influences including lemon myrtle, pepperberry and saltbush dukkah. High Tea is happening every Saturday and Sunday.

Shrek The Musical
Beloved fairytales are timeless, but when it comes to bringing them to life on stage, Shrek The Musical redefines the magic. No More Blank Walls takes over Subiaco
The No More Blank Walls street art festival returns to Perth in October, taking over Subi with a celebration of street art culture. The streets will be transformed with more than 10 murals, a pop-up gallery exhibition, community events, workshops, street art tours, mural battles, a festival hub and live art activities. The festival will showcase a talented line-up of both local and world-renowned mural artists, including Sofles (QLD), Curtis Hylton (UK) and Wild Drawing (IDN), who will bring a new and unique creative flare to the Subiaco precinct.

Perth International Jazz Festival
The annual Perth International Jazz Festival brings not only Australian and international jazz music, but a variety of other musical genres, to WA. Grammy award-winning jazz vocalist, bass player and composer Esperanza Spalding will headline this year's festival, performing on October 24 at Regal Theatre. Adding to the international line-up, two of the world’s greatest DJs will collide onstage, with Carl Cox and Eric Powell bringing their mobile disco to the Perth CBD on October 26. Both ticketed and free community activities for all ages will fill open air and indoor venues at various locations across Perth, plus bars, clubs and restaurants across Perth.

TIME • BAR and TIME • DINING from the Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA)
As part of the incredibly successful TIME • RONE exhibition, which opened in June 2024, AGWA's brand new offerings - TIME • BAR and TIME • DINING allows visitors the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in RONE's art while enjoying exquisite fine dining experiences within the installation itself.
Prohibition-inspired TIME • BAR opens on Wednesday 28 August and is located deep within the Centenary Galleries, inviting art enthusiasts and food lovers to unwind with bar snacks by chef Guy Grossi and drinks curated by renowned Perth bartender Andy McIntyre.
Then, in an Australian first, on Thursday 5 September AGWA will introduce TIME • DINING; an exclusive and intimate dining experience that will feature soundscape composed by award-winning Nick Batterham and a sumptuous four-course menu by Guy Grossi, with bespoke pairings from St Hugo wines.

To the Moon: WA Museum Boola Barlip
This fascinating, multiform exhibition focuses on humankind’s long fascination with the moon, seeing it as a gateway to the larger universe and the first and most important step in space exploration. To the Moon interweaves lunar art, pop culture, planetary science, historical insights, and the perspectives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The exhibition features the incredible 'Museum of the Moon', a touring artwork by UK artist Luke Jerram. Measuring seven metres in diameter, the moon features 120dpi detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface.
