From something a little sporty, to quieter, creative classes, we’ve found a fun variety of activities that will get you out and about in no time. From double dates to big group hangs, we’ve found all the best spots in town to try.

Oche

Oche

Play darts like never before at Oche in Fortitude Valley! This modern darts bar has gamified boards to make the competition a touch more fierce the next time you’re hunting down something fun to do with a group of friends.

You’ll book your very own darts lane to share with your group (or perhaps two lanes, depending on how many pals you plan to play with), and from there you can choose from a variety of challenging darts games to play on a real dartboard. The steel tip darts look just like normal, but have state-of-the-art electronic components that set them apart.

You can order food and drink to your darts lane, so you can enjoy hours of uninterrupted fun.

Maniax

Make sure you book this activity in with friends… not with frenemies.

At Maniax you’ll toss axes at a target board and test your hand-eye coordination whilst establishing whether you have any Viking blood running through your veins from a past life.

It’s a surprisingly cathartic way to blow off steam whilst engaging a little bit of friendly competition against your mates. You can order food and drinks to enjoy as you throw, there’s delightfully cheesy pizza and frosty cold beers on the menu to enjoy.

B. Lucky & Sons

Step into a neon paradise at B. Lucky & Sons, tucked away in a lane between Chinatown and Brunswick Mall in the Valley. This adult arcade game venue is the perfect place to blow off steam and release your inner child with your best pals.

A treasure trove of fun, interactive games, B. Lucky & Sons features plenty of favourites from your childhood (including our personal favourite, Mario Cart) along with hacky sack tosses and Bashi Bashi to challenge your hand-eye coordination.

You can also enjoy drinks and nibbles while you’re here, and the alcoholic bubble teas are not to be missed!

Hijinx Hotel

Hijinx Hotel

If you haven’t yet checked out FunLab’s newest addition to the roster, we highly recommend booking in for a play (or should we say… stay) at Hijinx Hotel.

This interactive and high-energy games arcade at Westfield Chermside will release your inner child as you solve puzzles, identify mystery songs and shoot hoops as fast you can as you travel from room to room in the hotel with your group of pals.

Once you’ve tried all the rooms, pop out to the bar for some super fun cocktails and share a pizza.

Mas & Miek

Pottery Workshop at Mas & Miek

Gather the gang for a wholesome afternoon of getting your hands dirty at a pottery workshop at Mas & Miek.

You’ll sit at a shared table, shaping soft clay by hand, or trying your hand at the pottery wheel to craft a special piece to keep at home or to gift.

We recommend the ‘one-off’ workshop, which is beginner-friendly. You’ll learn to use the pottery wheel, and make three pieces to have glazed and fired for you to collect in a few weeks when they’re ready for you.

TopGolf Gold Coast

There’s no need to be a pro golfer when it comes to this fun group activity! Gather your besties for a day out on the green… or should we say, above the green?

TopGolf takes golfing to the next level by elevating you into climate-controlled hitting bays that overlook a large green with colourful holes and flags. Using high-tech ball tracing technology, they’ve managed to gamify golfing into a whole new sport.

Get competitive with your pals as you play your way through different modes and settings, whilst keeping your taste buds satisfied with food and drinks that you can order right to your bay.

It’s makes for the perfect day out trying something new and partaking in some friendly competition with your group of pals.
