The most anticipated time in the Adelaide festival calendar year is upon us. The one and only Adelaide Fringe Festival 2024 is kicking off on February 16th for a month of art, theatre, comedy, music and everything in between!

We cannot wait to fill our diaries up with some of the most exciting things to do in the city, exploring the laneways of Leigh Street, Peel Street and Gilbert Place as bars and restaurants spill out onto the streets. Soak up the buzzy atmosphere and a drink or two before heading into the stretch and epicentre of the Adelaide Fringe Festival.

We’ve rounded up some of the hottest cabaret, theatre, musical and experiential shows (and more) at the Adelaide Fringe Festival 2024 that can’t be missed, so get booking stat!

Rachel Vidoni

Her Majesty - The Queen of Rock

In a showcase that would make Freddie Mercury proud, a collection of talented musicians and performers are set to take the Fringe stage in a tribute to one of the greatest bands of all time - Queen.

Lead by powerhouse Rachel Vidoni, dance and sing your way through this incredible show filled with bold theatrics and incredible vocals.

A show that promises to be as unique as the British band themselves - this is one not to miss at Adelaide Fringe Festival 2024.

Endless Grooves

Dream Boat – Party on the Popeye

Back by popular demand, all aboard the iconic Popeye boat as Dream Boat – Party on the Popeye sets sail along the Torrens River, complete with DJs curated by local party starters Endless Grooves.

Sip on your favourite local beverages, take in the views from surrounding riverbanks and dance your heart out to some excellent tunes.

GOSPO Collective

Whitney - The Greatest Love of All

Following a sellout stellar show in 2023, the incredibly talented GOSPO Collective are once again gracing the Fringe stage, as they pay homage to the greatest hits of pop superstar - the one and only Whitney Houston.

Performing hits from the 80's, 90's and 2000's, lead choral queen Charmaine Jones brings her signature style with an 80-piece choir and house band to give these iconic songs a new and lively spin. You won't want to miss this one, tickets will sell fast!

Tash York: Love That for You

In a show that is entertaining, hilarious and full of stories, may we recommend booking a ticket to Tash York: Love That for You?

Tash York - a mid-30's Cabaret performer, drag queen and MC - is telling her life story filled with some great choices, and some rather questionable ones in a tantalising cabaret display.

With musical numbers, charming quotes, clever jokes and a few life anecdotes thrown in - this is one of our top picks for Adelaide Fringe Festival 2024.

The Hairy Godmothers return to the Adelaide Fringe Festival once more to present the hilariously outrageous Dizney in Drag: Once Upon a Parody

This show isn’t for the grumpy or bashful, as it explores and laughs at modern gender roles, led by some of your favourite Disney characters with songs and stories – as you’ve never seen before. Prepare to have your favourite childhood Disney classics given a whole new meaning.

Shake It Off - A Burlesque Tribute to Taylor

In a tribute to feminist icon Taylor Swift, Adelaide's top burlesque performers are putting on quite the show with 'Shake it Off - A Burlesque Tribute to Taylor,' to dazzle the crowd, in a creative and tantalising display to show their appreciation and support for one of the world's hottest singers.

In celebration of Swift's Era's Tour, Viola Verve and Lylah Bloom Productions have chosen music to align with their own connection to each song, to create a performance that is all about celebrating women - we love to see it!

Hello? Adelaide? The girls are calling.

A clever and witty show formed from two budding actresses who bonded over the trauma of working in call centres, Call Girls is an open hotline in Adelaide, making light of the chaotic world of call centre customer service.

Dysfunctional besties who are all about having fun during their 9-5 will answer calls and keep the audience entertained with fast-paced conversation and sassy replies to all of life's big questions.

Beauty & the Bachie

Is 'The Bachelor' one of your favourite reality shows to binge? Then this might be for you! Emma Knights and Samara Gill present a hilarious new parody musical, following the success of Laura Wiley's hits, Sex & The Musical and Buffy Kills Edward. Enjoy the ultimate bachelor experience at the 'Bachelor Pad' during the Adelaide Fringe Festival.

Witness Bachie juggling dates with classic beauties, as one lucky lady exits after each song, bringing him closer to finding his one true love. With a fab local cast and maybe a surprise audience member, discover if Bachie snags true love... or just a bouquet of roses.

It's potentially one of the worst yet most memorable wedding receptions you'll attend - and everyone is invited to Confetti and Chaos! This brand new comedy is set to rock the Adelaide Fringe, with a 2-hour comedy show complete with a 3-course meal.

Not for the faint-hearted, this immersive experience will have you in stitches of laughter, as the chaos of a surprise party unfolds around you and you try to keep up with secrets and sass!

What do you get if you take some boozed-up Brits and one of the most loved stories of all time? Sh!t-faced Shakespeare – Macbeth is the hilarious smash-hit show performed by a troop of professional actors… but one of them is drunk.

Expect the unexpected with this raucous, riotous rampage that we believe Shakespeare would approve of.

Circus of Facts: After Hours

Be one of the first to catch the debut of Circus of Facts: After Hours, an adults-only cabaret circus show making its world premiere at Adelaide Fringe this March.

Produced by Kylie Simpson and her Cirqular Entertainment team, this one-hour spectacle is set to delight with 1930s-inspired characters like Frank Fancy and Fluffy the Showgirl, plus modern twists and cheeky innuendos.

Expect frivolity and fun as the story unfolds across four acts, featuring aerial acrobatics, quick-change acts, and awe-inspiring performances.

Experience the ultimate circus extravaganza as Infamous makes its Adelaide Fringe debut in 2024.

Held in its custom-built Spiegel Big Top at Ellis Park, this risqué R18+ adult cirque promises to  shock and delight every night throughout the month-long festival.

Director Michelle Jarman promises a thrilling experience with over 20 cast members and jaw-dropping acts like the Wheel of Death and a flying trapeze.

Are you brave enough to enter one of the mysterious containers in The Garden? DARKFIELD return with its four experiences, each hosted inside a 40ft shipping container where you’re plunged into complete darkness and rely on the rich multi-sensory narrative, your imagination and senses to drive your experience.

Eulogy takes you on a surreal journey through a dreamlike, labyrinth hotel that exists in your mind, the spine-tingling Seance explores the psychology of suggestion and vulnerability, Coma is a mind-boggling moment between waking and dreaming, and Flight mixes two worlds, realities and outcomes.

East End Cellars

East End Cellars: Adelaide Fringe Festival 2024

A staple in the Adelaide Fringe Festival calendar, the East End Vardon Avenue Street Party is back again this season! Throughout Fringe, pop down to East End on Friday and Saturday from 5pm, and from 1pm Sunday for live music, entertainment and pop-up bars.

But the fun doesn't stop there.

Following the second East End Cellars opening in Norwood late last year, just on the edge of the city bustle, the new location is joining the party with the perfect spot to dive into the Fringe frenzy without the hassle.

Popping up annually in Adelaide’s east parklands, South Australian-owned and operated Fringe hub Gluttony has cultivated a reputation as a feast for the senses for lovers of the arts, food and wine.

Thousands of artists have passed under Gluttony’s Art Deco-styled façade to perform on its stages since its 2011 start-up, from local up-and-comers to national TV stars to globally renowned acts.

Expect an overall festival experience at Gluttony, with delicious food vendors and welcoming bars made to complement the show. It's also a relaxed and inclusive vibe - you can't ask for much more! Oh well actually...there's no need to raid the piggy bank either to come in; entry is free!
