Tarda is Clifton Hill’s reimagined local gem—not entirely new, but we’re freshly captivated by its vibey new offerings. By day, this relaxed eatery serves up Small Batch coffee alongside grab-and-go sandwiches, pastries, and vibrant takes on classic brunch dishes. Just FYI, they make one of our favourite chilli scrambles in recent memory, served with whipped feta and plenty of fresh herbs.
By night (Thursday and Friday), Tarda transforms into a cosy wine bar with inventive small plates and hand-picked Victorian wines. Chef Alex Xinis, celebrated for his bold Mediterranean flavours, presents dishes like charred spelt flatbread, spiced brisket croquettes with herb yoghurt, and snapper à la grecque—best paired with fries and horseradish aioli. For cocktails, think crisp yuzu and Venetian spritzes, expertly shaken with Everleigh-inspired finesse.
