Hive

Canberra is a goldmine when it comes to gifting, you've just got to know where to look. From the Canberra-made collection at Pop Canberra to a homegrown ceramics brand, Canberra does quality well. Got your gift list ready? Read on for the best gift shops in Canberra.

Hive

As soon as you step foot in Hive, you know you've entered a space full of curated pieces. The gifts here have been selected with sustainability and ethicality in mind, as well as an eye to local and handmade. You can do laps of the shop, discovering new treasures each time. The card selection is impeccable, too! Whether you're after a natural perfume for a friend, a sweet knitted teddy for a bub or a housewarming gift for a neighbour, you'll be spoiled for choice here.

Shop 58 Ori Building, 30 Lonsdale Street, Braddon

West Row Botanica

West Row Botanica Boutique Florist

Got a giftee who loves florals? West Row Botanica Boutique Florist is one of Canberra’s best florists, supplying a lovely selection of blooms and arrangements to suit any occasion. There’s also a wide variety of sizes to choose from, with bouquets starting at $75 for a small – but still very exquisite – bunch. You can also add chocolates, hand creams and candles to your gift.

16 West Row, Civic

Derek Kollective

Derek Collective in Braddon stocks gifts to suit everyone. The store is packed to the brim with clothing, accessories, jewellery, trinkets and homewares, so if you need a bit of gift inspiration, you’re sure to find it here. Many items are reasonably budget-friendly, too, so even if you’ve got a little bit less cash to spare, you’ll still be able to purchase something impressive.

Shop 56/30 Lonsdale Street, Braddon

Lilly Cooper

Lilly Cooper

Lilly Cooper has been providing joyful gifts to the people of Canberra for over 35 years, so you know they're all over the gifting game. We love that this treasure trove is a one-stop-shop with gifts for babies, the home, pets, him and her. You can trust they've got all your gifting favourites - we're talking Frank Green, Jones & Co, Kip & Co - as well as plenty of new brands waiting to be discovered.

Shop 11, 14 Franklin Street, Manuka

Muse

Muse

One for the book lover in your life, Muse has one of the best selections of books you'll find. They've got a great collection of coffee table books and recipe books, perfect for gifting, as well as signed novels and non-fiction books. The best part? Muse is also a cafe so you can browse whilst waiting for your bacon and eggs or with a coffee in hand.

Ground Floor, East Hotel, 69 Canberra Avenue, Griffith

Bison Home

This homegrown homewares brand grew out of a love of Scandinavian and Asian ceramics. The pared-back design of the finished products is now renowned throughout the country and well sought after. A visit to their Canberra store is an absolute delight with coloured glass and ceramics peeking out from every corner. You'll find everything from dinner sets to teapots and all the homeware staples in between.

8/12 Beltana Road, Pialligo

The Curatoreum

We all love a museum shop, it has to be said. The National Portrait Gallery's The Curatoreum is a step above, with curious bits and bobs tucked into every corner. You're bound to find something unique as the store prioritises Australian-made goodies from ceramics through to jewellery and screen-printed textiles. The book selection is also impeccable with plenty of hard-to-find hardbacks and coffee table books to purchase. It's worth the trip for the store alone but we recommend squeezing in a round of the gallery, too.

King Edward Terrace, Parkes

The Green Vine

The Green Vine is the perfect spot if your giftee is more into plants than flowers. You’ll find a huge variety of indoor plants here, catering to everyone from gardening novices to true green thumbs. You can also add one of the store’s beautiful and unique pots and planters to your present, or even an item from their selection of gifts – our pick is the monstera leaf earrings. If you're lucky, resident pooch Rocky will be in-store welcoming free pats.

G13/27 Lonsdale Street, Braddon

Paranormal Wines

Wine is the ideal gift when you’re not quite sure what to get someone, and Paranormal Wines in Campbell is the ideal place to buy it.
