Easter High Tea at Belle Époque

For an Easter High Tea that will surpass all eggspectations, head into Belle Époque, the French pâtisserie café located at the base of the Emporium Hotel. Serving three tiers of Easter-themed sweet and savoury treats, from tiny burgers to Chantilly cream Easter egg macarons, you’ll walk away feeling very hoppy indeed. If that’s not quite enough sugar to satiate your sweet tooth, add on the chocolate fondue for two, and watch as the staff pour warm chocolate over an enormous Easter egg, served with fruit and sweets for dipping.

One of our favourite South Bank restaurants is dishing up an exclusive Easter High Tea event across two sessions on Easter Sunday. This elegant affair offers a luxurious choice of savoury bites, including a smoked salmon cream cheese & caviar sandwich, fried cauliflower and cheese tart and a smoked ham & mustard brioche. For sweets, you’ll enjoy fluffy hot cross scones served with raspberry rose jam and passionfruit curd, as well as an exotic fruit and dark chocolate delice. There are even more delights awaiting you at this high tea, but we didn’t want to give away all of the Easter Bunny’s secrets.

Stroll through a collection of local artisanal goodies this long weekend, at the pop-up Thrift Shop Markets at the Boundary Hotel in West End. Explore boutique upcycled fashion, homemade goodies and thrifted treasures that West End is so well known for. Live DJs will be around for entertainment from 4pm, and you can enjoy refreshments and tasty bites from the Boundary Hotel’s kitchens.

Sunflower fields forever. Pack a picnic, turn up the tunes and road trip out to a gorgeous sunflower field to top up your Instagram content catalogue! Being amongst nature, wide open spaces and fresh air is so rejuvenating for the soul and that’s something we can all use at the moment. There are a few fields easy to get to from Brisbane, but make sure to contact the farm or property owner in advance to avoid disappointment. 

Hit Up One of Brisbane's Best Camping Spots 

Long weekends are made for camping. With so many glorious spots to stay so close to Brisbane, you’re really spoilt for choice when it comes to camping in Queensland. The weather is perfect with cooler evenings, but plenty of warm Autumnal sunshine to keep you feeling sunkissed and refreshed. Want to use this downtime to get inspired? Spend some time slowly exploring GOMA, the Museum, or even the city streets! The ongoing Brisbane City Council Outdoor Gallery is currently dotted around the city, so if you keep an eye out you might just spot something special. Or you can easily while away an entire day visiting South Brisbane’s Cultural Centre. 

Whether you decide to stay in or head out and explore somewhere new with your long, long weekend, there’s no end of things to do in Brisbane! It’s also the perfect time to explore the city on foot, with plenty of walking trails that feature cultural hotspots as well as tasty spots to stop in and refresh yourself at.
