ZA ZA TA

Over the years, we’ve seen more and more vegan eateries open across the city, catering to quick bites, cafes and even fine dining. Vegan Restaurant

Vegan Restaurant West End

Craving honest, authentic Chinese food that’s entirely vegan? This restaurant is about to become your new favourite! Adored by locals and the vegan community of Brisbane, this unassuming restaurant goes by the simplistic moniker of “Vegan Restaurant”. Ideal for a midweek casual dining experience, you’ll enjoy hearty share plates of lemon chicken, sweet and sour pork, dim sum and so much more from the generous menu.

5/209 Boundary Street, West End

Neon Ramen

Neon Ramen

A colourful new ramen joint has burst onto the Everton Park dining scene and it’s set to be one of the best vegan restaurants in Brisbane!  Neon Ramen is in good veggie company, located in the same precinct as our favourite vegan bakery, VeganYumm.

Adorned with a cyberpunk cityscape and neon lighting, Neon Ramen sets the mood for a good time as soon as you walk in the door. You can opt to “Make Your Own” meal or choose from the menu that covers vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free diners.

471 South Pine Road, Everton Park

ZA ZA TA

ZA ZA TA

In a rare move for a hotel restaurant, ZA ZA TA is striking out with a bold move of an exclusively plant-based menu offering, both in their restaurant and the attached sister bar, Bar KAZBA.

With a focus on fine dining and inspiring patrons to forget that they’re eating meat-free, Chef Michael Jackson and his team plate up creative and flavourful Middle Eastern fare for vegetarians and vegans alike. Seasonal produce takes centre stage, with each dish bursting with colour, flavour and freshness.

Even meat lovers will enjoy a visit to one of the best vegan restaurants in Brisbane for upscale eats that help you increase your daily veggie intake. Each visit to this funky Fortitude Valley restaurant will leave you wanting more, yet feeling full from indulging in the meaty menu (if you’ll excuse the pun).

Bar Kazba

Bar Kazba

ZA ZA TA’s little sister is not one to skip when you’re exploring the best vegan restaurants in Brisbane! Inspired by the streets of Tel Aviv, this cocktail bar serves up incredibly creative drinks and dishes with an exotic twist.

If you’re searching for a vegan restaurant in the Valley to grab lunch at, Bar Kazba is the place for you! The kitchen uses charcoal and wood fire to add flavour and depth to their plant-based snacks and mezze.

We recommend sharing a mezze board with some cocktails, and don’t forget the salt and pepper crispy tofu!

1000 Ann Street, Fortitude Valley

Dicki’s

Dicki’s

Beloved for its central New Farm location, friendly service and delicious breakfast menu, Dicki’s is definitely rated as one of the best vegan restaurants in Brisbane by the plant-based community. Featuring reimaginings of all your brekkie faves, our pick is the sticky duck toastie and we can’t go past the build-your-own bao buns for a fresh and filling lunch dish. The Dicki’s team have gone on to open a second cafe in Ascot, so you can get your fix on both sides of the river!

893 Brunswick Street, New Farm

161B Racecourse Road, Ascot

Vega Cafe

Vega Cafe

After suffering a devastating fire in 2022, Vega Cafe has finally been able to re-open in a gorgeous new location. This friendly Spring Hill cafe serves an entirely vegan menu of beautifully crafted, fresh and healthy bites for breakfast and lunch.

Vega Cafe aims to inspire happiness and wellness to all who visit, and with their loyal fan base of regular customers, we think they’ve done a fine job of that indeed.

Find out for yourself by visiting this vegan restaurant the next time you’re craving something colourful!

1/448 Boundary Street, Spring Hill

The Green Edge

The Green Edge

No vegan restaurant round-up would be complete without The Green Edge! Arguably the most iconic vegan destination in Brisbane, this restaurant offers a hearty menu for breakfast, lunch & afternoon tea that even a carnivore could happily chow down on.

You can also shop up a storm in the shop section, with the widest range of vegan groceries, beauty products and frozen goods in Brisbane.

The Green Edge is the best vegan restaurant in Brisbane to bring any out-of-town plant-based pals to, thanks to the extensive menu and aisles full of vegan goods to browse after you eat.

Shop 2B, 229 Lutwyche Road, Windsor (entrance off Le Geyt St)

Loving Hut

Loving Hut

Another Brisbane vegan institution, Loving Hut has been serving Southsiders an enormous menu of Asian eats that are entirely animal-free for years and they have it down to a fine art.

With a comfortable atmosphere for the whole family, the Loving Hut restaurants are also alcohol-free. The expansive menu also notes additional allergens, so it’s quite accommodating for the digestively-challenged people in your life too!

This venue is one of the best vegan venues in Brisbane to check off your list the next time you’re craving a meat-free feast.

2/1420 Logan Road, Mount Gravatt

Plant Vibes

Plant Vibes Cafe

Situated in Bowen Hills, this sunshine-filled plant-based breakfast and lunch spot feels like a breath of fresh air. A beautifully renovated space that feels light, bright and airy, with funky prints and gorgeous furnishings to tie it all together.

Personally, we think Plant Vibes is the best vegan restaurant in Brisbane to spend a weekend morning at, enjoying a long breakfast or lunch!

Brunch on any of the heavenly bites in the front cabinet, or order a substantial and stunningly presented dish from the menu. It may have changed hands, but the new team are committed to providing the same amazing experience that keeps Plant Vibes regulars coming back time and time again.

52 Brookes Street, Bowen Hills

Yavanna

Yavanna

We almost lost Yavanna in 2022, but thank goodness we didn’t, as the plant-based community was preparing to mourn the loss of one of the best vegan restaurants in Brisbane.

For an elevated dining experience, Yavanna offers ambience and excellent eats at their Paddington location. Moody interior lighting and comfortable booths and tables make this location perfect for date nights or birthday dinners.

Our favourite is the chicken parmigiana for the pub feed nostalgia, made vegan and elevated to perfection.

You Came Again

You Came Again

Entirely vegan and gluten-free, West End tapas bar You Came Again is the ideal dining spot for your Friday evening dinner with friends.

This cosy venue has a winding hallway decorated with the work of local artists and spills out into a breezy courtyard at the rear.

Choose from a generous banquet dinner or order several plates to share, with simple dishes that are bursting with flavour. They also mix a mean cocktail, so make sure you save some room for a sip or two!

245 Boundary Street, West End
