New Farm Cafes for Your Weekend Wind-Down

The New Farm cafes that have a chokehold on our weekend plans.

New Farm Deli

Where better to spend a slow Sunday, than the charming suburb of New Farm?

It’s the perfect place to plan a breakfast, brunch or a long lunch at a New Farm cafe, followed by a stroll (or a lie-down) in the park. You could even take the riverwalk over to Howard Smith Wharves for an afternoon drink, to really stretch out the good vibes on your weekend adventure.

We’ve curated our favourite New Farm cafes for you below, to make sure you can have the delightful day you deserve this weekend.

New Farm Deli

New Farm Deli

No one does Italian better than New Farm Deli! This deli and cafe have been operating since 1975 and it shows in their incredibly curated grocery aisles, decadent desserts and traditional menu.

Enjoy spicy lamb mince, a bacon and egg panino or an Italian-style omelette to break your fast. If you’re visiting for lunch, try some antipasti along with a cocktail to transport yourself back to those Euro summer mems.

Made from quality, seasonal and local produce, you’ll feel like you just sat down to eat at your Nonna’s table.

Joedy's Cafe

Joedy's Cafe

Light-filled and fresh with pops of greenery all around, Joedy's is the perfect spot to ease into your day. Having expanded to three locations, Joedy’s is building quite the empire, but we adore their New Farm location for its proximity to the Riverwalk and New Farm Park.

This wholesome cafe is all about incorporating locally sourced and sustainably farmed produce into its menu.

From the breakfast tacos to the croissant eggs benny, you can be sure that the ingredients used are some of the best in the region - this alone makes Joedy's one of the best New Farm cafes.

A Cafe Called Kevin

A Cafe Called Kevin

From the fiery ruins of the Taj Mahal restaurant on Brunswick Street emerges Kevin, a fresh new face on the New Farm cafe scene. The Heritage-listed cottage has been given a brand new lease on life (and a glorious makeover). Enter the premises through a charming white picket fence that corrals an outdoor dining deck. Inside, you’ll find leafy green decor and warm natural hues.

Kevin’s food is as fresh as its facelift, with a garden-to-plate philosophy that sees vibrant produce and tasteful touches to each dish. Kevin is becoming the best New Farm cafe to visit for weekend brunch, so be sure to pop by and see what all the fuss is about.

Kin

If you’re chasing one of the best strawberry matchas in town, stray a little further from New Farm to the neighbouring suburb of Teneriffe to visit Kin.

Grab some takeaway from the coffee window, or head indoors to take a seat for full service, a la carte breakfast and brunch. The menu is always changing up (and the weekday offering differs from the weekends), but you can expect delicious choices like coconut rice pudding, acai bowls, eggs your way or a Spanish omelette.
