Supernice

Treat yourself to something super tasty at Supernice in Bowen Hills. This cute and cosy cafe slices up crispy toasties, fresh wraps and sambos to sate any appetite. Stop in for a loaded brekkie wrap on a homemade tortilla, and team it with a frothy matcha latte or a top-notch Supreme coffee cold-brew. Amongst the reubens, tuna melts and mortadella toasties, there’s a flavour for everyone here, and it’s no surprise this sando shack has been touted as serving the best sandwiches in Brisane.

Joe’s Deli

Joe’s Deli

Bringing an attitude of old-fashioned service with modern sensibilities, Joe’s Deli is the best new cafe to hit for a proper sandwich, tasty deli goods, fresh cold cuts and excellent service. After their first successful year on the Gold Coast, the Joe’s Deli crew brought their deli-style eats to Albert Street in 2023.

We love the NYC-inspired eats, ranging from meatball subs, wagyu pastrami hoagies and sloppy joes. There are even vegan options on the menu (meatball subs included!) which are well worth your while if you’re hunting down plant-based eats.

James and Antler

James and Antler

James and Antler’s new kiosk is James Street’s hottest new addition, dishing up their top-performing menu items in a casual grab-and-go format that makes getting a delicious brunch even easier. What is this best-selling brunch masterpiece, we hear you ask?

This new venue’s claim to fame is a staple from their flagship cafe Mitch and Antler: the Croque Madame. It's a sourdough toastie layered with smoked ham, two types of cheese and mustard leek cream, topped with the sunniest free-range fried egg you’ve ever seen. We’re also very taken with their canned coffee frappés, whipped and canned on the spot for your convenience!

Wilburs

Wilburs

Have you been to Wilburs? If you’re hunting for the best sandwiches in Brisbane, you’d best add this deli to your hit list. Think hot sopressa, crusty bread kissed with extra virgin olive oil, a handful of chips on the side, and some of the best fresh-made lemonade you’ve ever tasted. Wilburs is the place to hit for unpretentious comfort food, made well and made with love. See you there for a sando!

Deli Dakota

Deli Dakota

A favourite amongst locals, Deli Dakota is a hidden gem on the south side of Brisbane, serving up a delectable mix of classic sandwiches. Toss up between the BBQ brisket or the DFC (Dakota fried chicken), or opt for a vegan banh mi if you’re craving some sesame-crusted tofu and mushroom pate. You’ll soon discover why Deli Dakota’s regulars call these sandwiches some of the best in Brisbane!

30 Badminton Street, Mount Gravatt East

Sunny Side Sandwiches

Sunny Side Sandwiches

There’s something very wholesome about the humble sandwich and Sunny Side approaches this fact with a consistent and pragmatic approach: by making feel-good food. There’s no shortage of sandwiches to choose from on the menu, with hot sandos, deli sandos and toasties to name a few. Our favourite is the eggplant parm, served with tomato sauce, mozzarella, basil and pickled red peppers.

DannyBoys

DannyBoys

DannyBoys makes rockstar sandwiches. Even if you’re avoiding gluten or are a herbivore, there’s something everyone here. Founder Daniel McKennariey spent years working as a chef on super yachts and private estates throughout the USA, Europe and the Caribbean. He discovered that while each country had its own cuisine, they all loved a sandwich!

The menu spans sandwiches, brekkie bites, flat grills, soups, sides and sweets, but our pick is the Gringo: chicken breast, Mexican spices, Monterey Jack cheese, tomatoes, jalapenos, red onion, sweetcorn, lettuce and chipotle mayonnaise. Plus, you can swap out your bread for a lettuce wrap any time you feel like keeping it light.

Melt Brothers

Melt Brothers

Inspired by the street food of New York alleyways, owners Justin and Felix wanted to bring the ultimate comfort food back to Australian shores, much to the delight of our tastebuds! We’re dying to try the M.C. cheesy, the ultimate indulgent sandwich featuring macaroni and cheese, bacon bits, smoky BBQ, aioli, mozzarella and aged cheddar.

Gluten-free and vegan friends are catered for here too, with vegan cheese available to add on to make your toastie as melty as it should be. Visit a Melt Brothers near you and discover why these have made the cut as some of the best sandwiches in Brisbane.

Coffee Head Co

Coffee Head Co

The Coffee Head Co isn’t just known for their delicious and life-giving coffee, they’re also pros at whipping up gourmet toasties to satiate any appetite. The Cheese Louise is a tasty time (provolone, vintage cheddar cheese, raclette cheese, caramelised onion jam and dill) but we must also make mention of the classic cheese and vegemite for the true blue Aussie kids at heart.

Aged cheddar cheese and vegemite are smeared on artisanal sourdough to make a toastie that takes you back, now that makes for easily some of the best sandwiches in Brisbane.

62 Manning Street, South Brisbane

Jocelyn’s Provisions

Jocelyn’s Provisions

Jocelyn’s tasty sweet treats have been bringing joy to the tastebuds of Newstead locals for years now and now they’re making every lunch break a delectable encounter with grab-and-go sandwiches awaiting you at their counter.

They’re always adding new sandwich options, but our current pick is a classic club sandwich, stuffed full of bacon, crunchy lettuce, tomato relish, creamy chicken and sweet pickles, all bundled up in two perfect slices of housemade pain de mie. That’s soft, slightly sweet, crustless bread for anyone who hasn’t binge-watched Emily In Paris.
