Homeboy

It's not every day that a humble cafe in the Adelaide Hills can claim over 300k Instagram followers, but that's exactly the case for Homeboy, a coffee shop originally opened in Hahndorf in 2023. While the Hahndorf Homeboy was only temporary, owner Tom Oswald has found a permanent residence on Adelaide's North Terrace, now open in time for iced lattes in the sun.

Finding fame on TikTok through a series of day-in-the-life and behind-the-scenes videos documenting the struggles and realities of owning a cafe, Homeboy is now known for its simplicity, great coffee, fun banter, tasty sandos and good vibes.

Gilly's Espresso

There's no denying the locals of Unley love a cosy cafe for brewed coffees to-go and leisurely catchups, so it's fair to say Gilly's Espresso has been a welcome addition to the suburb. Small in size, the team make up for it with fresh bagels, loaded sandos, savoury slices, sweet treats and breakfast cups.

Beyond the bites, the iced drinks are hard to resist, with strawberry or pistachio matcha and Cocobella lattes flying out the door as summer treats us to warm mornings. Always greeted with a friendly smile, this is a loved locale to have on your radar.

This Mile End cafe is a beautiful representation of Japanese culture and cuisine, thanks to its cool tones, exposed timber and concrete interiors, exceptional matcha and hojicha blends, and the best snack in the game right now - the onigiri.
